“The middle section of the Whitefish Trail, featuring more twisty singletrack.
”
This section starts by climbing through a draw in some dense forest. As you gain some elevation the trail crosses over the top of the finger you'll enter some recently timbered forest and are treated to some eye-catching terrain. There are lots of wildflowers during the right seasons. This whole section maintains an easy but steady climb until you pass through two small boulders and the trail dips down for the next mile.
The downhill section is fast. It starts out with a good flow and then hits a pair of switchbacks. The trail tightens up a bit after these and swings you through two more switchbacks before dumping you onto an older access road. Keep pedaling 200m or so and you'll see the singletrack continue on your left.
Soon after you'll encounter a split. Go Right for the Beaver Lake Trailhead and the Whitefish Bike Retreat or straight to Beaver Lake Rd and more singletrack.
