Overview

This ride encompasses all three of the main trails at Tanglewood Park; the Main (Advanced) Loop, the Northern Loop, and the River Loop as well as part of the Multi-Use Horse Trail.

Need to Know

This ride uses part of the Multi-Use Horse Trail, so keep an eye out for "land mines".

Runners and hikers frequent these trails. Keep an eye out!

Description

This ride starts by the trailhead parking lot on Campground Road traveling south on the Main (Advanced) Loop. After completing the Main Loop, cross Campground Road and continue on the Northern Loop for 0.6 of a mile and take a left at the Northern Loop Connector. At the intersection with the Multi-Use Horse Trail, take a left and continue for another 1/2 mile to the intersection with the River Loop. After completing the River Loop, take a right on the Multi-Use Horse Trail and retrace your steps back to the Northern Loop Connector then take a left at the intersection with the Northern Loop . After 3/4 mile the trail loops back to the trailhead parking lot to conclude the ride.

History & Background

Thanks to efforts by Mike Cobbler from Cycletherapy, Clemmons Bicycle and other trail volunteers, this trail has come a long way in recent years. Mike and others have done a great job building berms, bridges, rock gardens and jumps.
