The management plan for Red Mountain Open Space requires closures to the public December 1 to March 1 because of winter weather changes and the wildlife requirements.

Description

This is a multi-use trail, shared with hikers and equestrians, so look out for them. The eastern portion of this trail is an old dirt road that will lead you up the hill to the much more fun Cheyenne Rim Trail. The western portion of this trail follows a sandy wash.

It serves as an important connector in Red Mountain Open Space, connecting Salt Lick Trail with Cheyenne Rim Trail or Sinking Sun Trail.
