Wildcat Trail is open for riding to Highlands Ranch Community Association members and their accompanied guests.
(Please bring your HRCA membership card with you when accessing any of the HRCA trails)

--Please note, this trail is seasonally closed (usually January 1st to April 30th) for Golden Eagle Nesting.

Description

On the Wildcat Mountain network of trails in the HRCA Backcountry Open Space, this loop is an overall easy and fast singletrack. Beware of other hikers on the trail seeking the same great view from the Wildcat Mountain overlook. There is one small, easy/intermediate technical section near the overlook to make this loop even more interesting.

This loop can be accessed by parking at the Rocky Heights Middle School and riding up the Douglas County East/West trail that parallels Monarch Blvd. Once you crest the top of Monarch, you'll see the gate and signage marking the entrance of the Wildcat Mountain trail area.

This loop can also be accessed more directly by driving up Monarch Blvd from Rocky Heights Middle School, cresting the hill and turning left into a small parking area by the horse corral. From there, it's a short connector ride (0.2mi) to the gate leading into the Wildcat Mountain trail area.

Always a fun, quick ride. Stop and check out the views. Don't go through the creek at full speed lol.
