Description

Like the other trails in the North Woods section of Forbes State forest, the Shafer Run trail is wide and technically moderate but occasionally steep.

Access off Tunnel Road and run the loop in either direction. The trail takes you down to Shafer Run where there is a ski warming hut. The Shafer Run trail connects to North Woods Loop Trail and to Mountain View Loop Trail so it is easy to create a longer ride.
