Description

This is a steady climb that starts on HWY4 at a paved parking lot just after you exit the Valle Grande. You begin climbing a large meadow along a creek that begins to narrow into a canyon. Near the top of the canyon the trail rolls along a bit near a forest road before topping out at the Peralta Canyon Pass. From here you can go left on the Dragon's Tail, or right on the Las Conchas Peak Trail.

This is a video of "most" of the point-to-point classic ride of Las Conchas to Battleship Rock. It begins once up on the ridge out of the East Fork Creek Canyon (Las Conchas), where the descending really starts. It's nice and flowing at first, but then gets more difficult throughout the ride.
