Description

The Lakeside Trail is another excellent trail; three miles of curving singletrack. The loop can be accessed from either the Bridger Bay Campground or the White Rock Loop Trailhead and is nicely rideable in either direction.

From White Rock, take the short connector trail out to the intersection of the loop, either head downhill towards the lake to the left or turn uphill to your right and climb the easy grade toward the Buffalo Point access road. Continue the loop as it wraps around the whole point.

From Bridger Bay, head to the end of the campsite loop and you'll see a small parking area with a small trailhead sign. Take this connector trail out towards the lake and you'll see an intersection, head left uphill on an easy grade toward the Buffalo Point access road or right towards the lake.

The middle mile of the ride is insanely rocky and rates an "expert" in technical difficulty, but you can easily hike through the areas that make you nervous. You can ride the trail back, or head overland by dirt road. (Or, you can zip 0.5 miles down to the White Rock Bay Trail!)

One of Antelope Island's permanent residents eyeballs a biker. Among the wildlife in this nature preserve are 900 bison. The big guys aren't usually aggressive, but they are wild. And they're definitely BIG. Don't get close during the calving or breeding seasons.

Very rocky with narrow choke points. If you don't like your derailleur, or chainring then this ride is for you.
