Rated Intermediate, this is a step up from Rocky Branch Trail. Expect loose rocks and a bigger grunt (100 ft. of climbing in the first .6 mi). Middle Earth provides access to the more advanced trails and skills areas at the park, which are found near near the "Saddle" at 3560 ft.

Bikes are encouraged to ride counter-clockwise. Passing the powerline cut twice, ride Rocky Branch (clockwise) for approx. 1.5 mi., then take a left on (and up) Middle Earth. Riders should note that when you decend from the "saddle" and powerlines that there are some very rocky sections before merging with Rocky Branch. To avoid this section, a bypass has been created via Boat Rock and the Middle of Nowhere Connector.
