Description

Meander is a fairly long cross country trail that winds its way down the backside of the mountain. It's not a straight shot all downhill as there are some short uphill bursts and spots where you have to pedal. It also can get very overgrown in the summer with handlebar high wildflowers common. Start by riding out Primer. Toward the end of Primer, look for a signed singletrack splitting off to the right. After riding Meander there will be a bridge on the road straight ahead. You can either choose to ride up to the road and take that back to the base area and back to Mt. Crested Butte or you can head straight underneath the bridge taking the gravel road over to Lower Meander. Lower Meander will take you to the Snodgrass trailhead.

This can be confusing at first, but stay straight under the bridge on the dirt road to connect Meander with Lower Meander

Great hike uphill. For a ride, make sure your group has some strength and skills for technical spots and grade.
