Description

The Western Sky Trail begins across from Slalom at the high point of Gold Run Road. Pass east through a wooden chicane onto Fall Classic Trail and turn immediately right onto Western Sky. The trails are all marked.

Climb initially (honing your skills on a circular mine adit along the way) before topping out and descending to Gold Run Road. Turn left and ride onto pavement past a driveway and garage built into a hill on the left and the top of Forest Hills Drive on the right.

Western Sky continues up the left ditch bank just past the garage. Climb steadily to a high point offering outstanding views of the Ten Mile Range. Descend to the end of the trail at a gravel road across from Chantilly Trail.

Turn left on the pavement to access Prospect Hill Road (GH 38) and the Classic Breckenridge Route. Cross the road and descend Chantilly Trail across Gold Run Road to Forest Hills Drive. About a 1/2 mile down Forest Hills Drive, the Upper Flume Trail parallels the road on the right.
