Overview

This is the course for the 12 Hours of Old El Paso 2014 MTB Race.

Description

This great course starts at the Bowen Ranch Round House. It begins along the relatively easy winding singletrack of Lazy Cow trail. After Lazy Cow the course makes a right turn on to Old Tin Mine Road. This is where the climbing begins. Ascend this trail until you see the sign for Polecat Alley trail. Make a right on Polecat alley and stay on this trail until you reach Blue Moon. Take a left and ride until you reach Old Tin Mine again. Take a right on Old Tin Mine and continue up the mountain until you reach Happy Hill. Make a right at Happy Hill and look for the small cave to the right as you climb the hill.

This is the highest part of the course. Descend Happy hill and stay left on to Red Rock trail then merge right on to Polecat Alley. Make a left on Blue Moon until you reach Mad Cow trail. This part of the course will take you through "Dead Man's Drop", a fun little wash out with a wooden bridge.

Take a right on Mad Cow and stay on this trail until you return to Bowen Ranch. Once you reach Bowen Ranch turn left and ascend Coyote Ugly until you reach How Now trail. This trail begins with a fun descent through a rocky arroyo and then through a dry creek bed known as "Tu Madre". Stay on this trail until you reach Pipeline Road. Make a right on Pipeline Road until you return to Bowen Ranch.
