Description

This is the most technically interesting of the area trails and a worthy conclusion to a ride in the Cerillos Hills Escalante, Mirador, Coyote, Upper Elkins Canyon Trail network.

Horse traffic seems a bit less in this area due to the steepness and rockiness. Watch for hikers.

There are rock gardens and a few off-camber rocky sections with steep cross slopes. In the final section of narrow canyon are a couple of sections of bedrock pavement.

Once out of the canyon, ride about 1/2-mile back to the parking area to complete the loop.
