Some short, steep climbs are rewarded with long flowy doubletrack, great riding for a cross bike.

Description

Starting from the north on Sir Francis Drake, you'll see an obvious parking pullout with a cattle trap that you'll have to huff your bike up and over. Start with a mellow climb that winds up and onto the ridge. Keep on following this as it varies between single and doubletrack.

You'll encounter a fork where Jewell trail breaks off to your left (and heads back down to Sir Francis Drake), stay right and keep climbing. You'll hit a few more cattle gates before seeing Randall Trail that branches off to the right. The main trail enters the trees and becomes soft and flowy, although you may encounter some branches or downed logs.

Within a few miles you'll see the McCurdy trail that also branches off to the right, continue straight and you'll come to the end at Ridgecrest Boulevard.

The hills are alive... Yep, Bo Ridge in spring really looks like a scene from the Sound of Music.

Very muddy in spots! But nice scenery in two distinct settings - rolling hills with outcroppings and redwoods

Most of this trail is amazing and so much fun. Redwoods holding a lot of water still. Bottom section near Jewel is super beaten up, bad on gravel bike

Exposed and bumpy for most of the ride. Minimal turns. Redwood section near the end was fun 19.9mi — 2h 33m

First five miles a real grunt from Olema side of the trail. We had to lift our mtbs up and over a barb wire fence. 16mi — 3h 30m
