Avoid after rains. Trail becomes very muddy

Description

The White rock trail drops down heading NE off the East Pinery Road. The trail drops steeply at first, and can be a little loose in places before gaining a small hill. Once over the hill the trail winds around the hillside and eventually passes the remains of an old chrome mine.

More nice singletrack will bring you further down White Rock Canyon then up and over a low ridge into a parallel drainage. Once the trail flattens out and follows the creek there are a few shallow but rocky stream crossings. All but the most skilled riders will walk some of these crossings. A final short uphill puts you back on the paved Sunset Valley road.

Fun whirl in the wilderness. Nice road climb at the end. I started at the Davy trailhead.
