This is a classic downhill trail. Dark Hollow is a true black diamond trail intended for experts. If you don't have the skills, and proper equipment, you may want to avoid this trail. I know people who have done it on xc bikes, but it worked them. You can hike-a-bike the most difficult sections and still have a great ride.
Need To Know
You can arrange a shuttle for $20 at the Giant Steps lodge at Brian Head Resort. It's a short shuttle up to Brian Head Peak and they pick you up at the bottom. You can also self-shuttle.
If very steep chunky descents, sharp rocky switchbacks, and blistering two track is your thing... this trail is for you. It's one of the courses for the Utah Gravity Mountain Bike Race Series. Beyond the steep and technical nature of this trail, there are some spectacular mountain vistas and beautiful red rock cliffs.

How many trails are there that start above timberline and end in a red rock canyon? This is a beautiful place. Dark Hollow is part of a trail network with other singletrack trails including Paradise, Scout Camp, and Hendrickson Lake.
