Description

This is one of the longer trails on the North side of town that is biker friendly. It can be accessed via the Mill Creek RD, Eider Creek Trail, Jud Wiebe Trail to Deep Creek Waterline, or Via Airport Road. Riding West to East will yield gentler climbs and a shorter but much steeper downhill, while East to West requires burly climbing and a flowy exit. Many of the loops that involve this trail end up being over 15 miles with serious climbing sections, so bring adequate food and water.

The riding is almost entirely on singletrack that ranges from very smooth to very rough. Only very highly skilled riders will be able to avoid significant amounts hike-a-bike on this one, especially if climbing the Eider Creek Trail.

This ride is highly scenic and is a great way to see the whole valley and much of the surrounding San Juans. High quality enduro fun! Watch for hikers and trail runners and wildlife on the trail.

Shuttling options exist if riders want to cut out riding the highway to access this trail. Parking exists both at Mill Creek RD and at the Deep Creek Trail-head on the west side. Either way you're going to do a lot of climbing though.
