“A nice ride circling the entire North Table Mountain Park - involving a few nice downhill sections.”
— Chuck McQuade on Apr 5, 2013
Overview1:40 average ride time for 8.8 miles. Details
A nice moderate trail - perfect for a lunch break or evening ride if you live/work in the area.
DescriptionSome start the loop at the North Table Mountain Park main parking lot just east of highway 93 and ride it in a clockwise direction. However, if you're looking for more downhill segments try the counterclockwise direction shown here. This direction also avoids ending your ride on the very steep and loose gravel maintenance road. Keep in mind the counterclockwise direction means you must start your ride with a steep climb, but you will be rewarded with three very nice downhill sections in this direction.
The trail is marked very nicely with trail signs on large boulders throughout the ride. After grinding out the maintenance road, stay heading south on doubletrack for a short distance, here the trail heads east now on singletrack for the remainder of the ride.
Three downhill sections broken up by a few short climbs now lie ahead as you come across North Table Mountain's south side. Once the trail heads back north the trail levels out and becomes a smooth cross-country style ride, ending back at the main parking lot.
