Fort Ord National Monument trails (and roads) are closed from 30 minutes after sunset to 30 minutes before sunrise.

Description

Normally ridden as a climb known as "The Grind," this road has been used as the climb back up to Laguna Seca during a lap of a 24 hour race.

The climb is fairly gradual but at nearly 3 miles long a bit of a grind. This road connects Jacks Road, Trail 49 (south), the Dam Road and Skyline Road. The top of this road is the entrance to the Fort Ord National Monument Lands from Laguna Seca for the last several Sea Otter Classic Cross Country races.

A ride down this road gives a nice view all the way out to the Salinas Valley.
