Overview

This loop is a sample of what trails are like in the Phil's network of trails.....they are smooth, fast, hard packed, and wind through open pine forests. A very popular loop.

In a hot summer with little rain, the hard packed trail edges can turn to very fine pumice. Be careful.

Description

A fun connection of trails, filled with smooth terrain, lots of fun turns, ups, and downs. Though generally forested, there are some fantastic views of the Cascade volcanoes. There are also a variety of small tricks (logs, bridges, narrow tree openings) that can be found along the way, but easy to avoid these too.

There are so many great trails here, but this is a small sampler of the many excellent rides.

There is no preferred direction or starting spot for this loop in the Phil's Trailhead network of trails, though parking at Phil's Trailhead (FR 4604) is easiest.
