Description

Locals often like to say that Limekiln feels like it's downhill in both directions; frequent grade reversals mean that the climbs are never too long, and long straight sections mean that you can move pretty fast on this trail.

Limekiln is beginner friendly; there is little climbing and few technical features, though beginners should keep an eye open for a couple rooty and rocky areas. The relative easiness of this trail and its accessibility to the campground make it a a favorite trail with families.

Limekiln meets Walnut Trail at the Hoosier's Nest.

NOTE: With Fall 2021, Limekiln became Limekiln West which alternates direction with Limekiln East every other day. (see signs at entry points).

We would have missed this exhilarating ride if not for a tip from the owner of Brown County Bikes. Worth the price of admission. 5mi
