Overview

The RAT system is currently a work in progress, continually evolving with ongoing construction of new trails.

In the spring of 2013, after eight years of administrative review by BLM and constant advocacy from COPMOBA/RAT, BLM issued its final Environmental Analysis and Travel Management Plan for the RAT trail network. Construction began almost immediately and, to date, volunteers and paid professionals have constructed about seven miles of rockin' new singletrack.

Local Info

For a easier introduction to the RAT trails take the advice of their website. Park on 10b, left side about halfway up you'll see a spot for about 3 cars. Take Rattus Maximus to Ratical to Double Crosser and then back to the car on Rattus. About 90 min ride which will give you a feel for the easier trails in the system, add in the Plagueground for a additional few miles of super fun whoopdeedoos. Rat trails have lots of loose switchbacks, nice climbs and swoops descents.
