Overview

The 2,700 acres of Washington's oldest state park have a lot to offer hikers, trail runners, equestrian riders, and mountain bikers. Visitors to Larrabee State Park are instantly surrounded by pristine views, secluded lakes, rocky ridges, and old-growth forests found just a short distance from Bellingham.

Local Info

Larrabee State Park has miles of singletrack and doubletrack that connect to surrounding trails in the Chuckanut Recreation Area. Bikers have been enjoying the steep, rooty, and rocky multi-use trails for years, but it wasn't until 201 that the biking-only Double Diamond was opened. Be on the lookout for traffic in both directions and offer a greeting and a smile as you approach other trail users.

Visiting Tips

The park is open to visitors year-round. An annual or day-use Discover Pass is required and can be purchased on site at an automated pay station near the campground. Cleator Road, which accesses the top of many trails and the Cyrus Gates Overlook, is occasionally closed due to inclement weather or fallen trees.

Camping & Lodging

The campground at Larrabee State Park is popular and can fill up quickly during peak season. Reservations can be made online.
