Description

This trail can be ridden as an out and back or as a loop/shuttle by adding Mahogany Creek loop with Long Ridge or use it as access to relay ridge and beyond.

The first couple of miles are a mixture of short climbs and small downhill. There are also a few small stream crossings. The trail winds through small meadows and Aspen stands as it takes you further up into the Conifers. After you come to a steep stream crossing that you'll probably have to dismount for (steep bank on one side makes it hard to ride up), the trail takes a noticeable turn up.

The next 2 miles are what make this trail. Steep switchbacks through the forest, mostly rideable for those in shape. Some may need a breather every now and then. It tops out once and leads you to believe you are at the top. Continue on and you'll soon point back up. Another shorter climb takes you up once more. This time on top you'll traverse around and head down for a short portion before your final pull to the crest.

The last 30 yards are a little steep but you've come this far. Once on top, enjoy then decide which option you want next. There are plenty to choose from. Turning around and heading back down is a great choice in itself. Trail comes at you really fast. You'll notice a few more rocks going down then you did going up but it is fast and fun.
