Overview

Beaver Creek has a lot of nice trails, many centered around the Cinch lift, but this is the best cross-country tour of the area for beginners and intermediates. It's never very hard, and you can take the bus instead of the first long climb and save over 1,000 of climbing!

Description

Starting from one of the lower parking lots (the Bear lot is used most often), you can either take the Beaver Creek Bike Path up to the base area (an easy, but solidly uphill cruise on a paved path), or just take the free bus that welcomes bikes.

Navigate through the base area and start climbing up Cinch on mostly dirt roads for a few hundred vertical feet until you get to Allie's Way. It's marked (it will be on your right, just at a switchback), but make sure you look out for it.

Allie's Way is a delightful singletrack through aspens with a moderate grade the entire way. It crosses Beaver Creek on a new bridge and ends at Beaver Lake Trail. Take a left and in just 200 feet you'll be at the start of Village to Village Trail.

This is a very long trail, covering lots of terrain, mostly on easy, wide singletrack through aspens and ski runs. You traverse west all the way to the edge of the Arrowhead ski area, where you make a turn right and start a 1200' descent to the base. It's a lot of vertical, but the surface is pretty easy and the switchbacks are nice and wide.

Once at the base area, follow roads back east until you hit highway 6. A short and easy jaunt will return you to your car.

Trail poorly marked. Many intersections to navigate. Spent most of our time trying to follow the route. 15mi
