Description

This section is used to access the Warrior Creek Trail, and also includes the Yadkin River Trail beyond Marley Ford.

The trail begins at the Keowee boat ramp near the Warrior Creek Gatehouse. The first 1.5 miles of this trail are often used to access Warrior Creek Trail. Traveling West from the Warrior back lot, it's downhill initially, with a fun section with multiple bermed turns.

The segment West of Warrior Creek climbs to nearly 1200 ft, before bombing down toward the Marley Ford Canoe launch. It's relatively remote, and doesn't get much traffic. This section is a very historic trail corridor, however, and was traveled not only by the Overmountain Men in 1780, but also by Daniel Boone, who lived nearby in the 1760s.

The trail ends at the Marley Ford Parking Lot and Canoe Launch. It involves a short climb on roads, but there's nice view of the lake and surrounding mountains near here. To get there, ride up the paved road and take a left on Mountain View Rd.
