Overview

This trail is a wild roller coaster ride. There is currently only about five miles of trail in this network, but it is very fun. It was purpose built for mountain bikes by Q and DJ from OTE, and has more turns per mile than any trail I have ever ridden.

The GPS track only estimated the trail at 2.5 miles, but it is actually around 5 miles because the small twists and turns are tighter than the resolution of GPS. It would be easy to overlook this trail because it is so short, but don't. it is fun and right on the way to Hurricane and all of the great trails there.

Description

This is an easy trailhead to access and it's on the way to the JEM, Gooseberry, and other Hurricane Trails (Sate Road 9 just off exit 16 of I-15). The trailhead/parking is located across the street from the Washington County water treatment plant below the dam at Quail Creek Reservoir.

It's best ridden clockwise, and there are different small loops you can take along the way. There is also a new trail under construction leading north to Quail Creek State Park. That trail will be completed later this year. Once you are on Rhythm & Blues you can't get lost, simply follow the loop around and back to your car. The last mile (ridden clockwise) is the most technical.

Some people will turn around at the rocky section and ride the trail back counter clockwise to the trailhead. This trail is only about five miles but all of the ups, downs, and sharp turns will make you work. If you don't find you Rhythm, you'll get the Blues. It's fun.

Really fun desert scenery. Not a destination trail, but worth doing if you want to goof around for 30 minutes.

This is certainly not a trail for beginners. Back return section has a few narrow rock climbs and rock drops that are fun. Narrow turns on loose dirt 2.3mi

Runoff canal has made red mud in some areas that are closer to the road. Higher route is dry. Construction is noisy. Technical/fun/exhausting!
